Reference Materials
Castellated and Cellular beams have been referenced in many published articles in major construction magazines due to their innovative design and ability to become efficient, economical components of projects receiving recognition for outstanding design. Studies have been completed recognizing the physical as well as weight saving attributes of the castellated and cellular beams. Their superior vibrational characteristics as well as their importance and maintenance cost relating to Parking Garage Construction is well documented.
To fill the need for a comprehensive United States publication that addresses the current state of practice for the design of castellated and cellular beams, AISC is proud to present Steel Design Guide #31 (“Castellated and Cellular Beam Design”). This guide provides a uniform approach to the design of castellated and cellular beams (composite and non-composite applications) and is the reference basis for all the domestic design software relating to these beams available today.
